PREFACE - A NOTE TO THE READER
The current EEOC system have many flaws and one must understand that things will not change overnight. Filing a complaint is a good start to shine the light on what's really occurring at a company or agency.
An EEO complaint can serve it's purpose in many ways. Just be aware up front that it might take years to get your complaint settled.
Being successful in filing a discrimination complaint can be described as "living in peace and living a balanced life." Everyone should be afforded the chance to live in peace.
Success cannot be measured in monetary terms. Many times those who file complaints go on to live productive lives knowing they have become trailblazers and visionaries for others to follow.
The bottom line is that if you chose to engage in the discrimination process, you will more than likely suffer mightily for your actions. You will suffer financial and emotional disasters and many lives might be ruined in the process - yours and maybe the lives of family members.
Sometimes filing the complaint can save your job. If you did not file the EEO complaint, your managers or bosses would surely have terminated you. Filing the complaints have documented the abuse. So remember EEO complaints can serve many purposes such as stopping your company from terminating you and sometimes cause your company to terminate you.
Many times though the fate of those who filed EEO complaints are not always the same. Many suffer from: bankruptcies, divorces, loss of health and life insurance, loss of health and spirit, go on welfare or become homeless.
So do your research before you decide to file a complaint. Weigh all your options! Would it be easier to file the complaint or is it time to "divorce your job" and become an entrepreneur?
